SPA Black Nut Fixing vs. Standard Base
The SPA Formula mirror is the most popular choice, but its standard two-hole base uses an internal screw (grub screw) to lock the mirror head's position. The "black nut" fixing solves the resulting usability issues.
Standard Spa Two-Hole Base Issue: To adjust and secure the mirror head, the internal locking bolt must be accessed from underneath or behind the mounting base, making on-the-fly adjustment frustrating.
Black Nut Benefit: The "black nut" (a conical adjusting nut) is an external part of the mirror's mounting stem. It allows the mirror head to be adjusted and locked externally without disassembling the mirror or reaching through the bodywork.
Conversion Kit: DPR offers a conversion kit that allows the superior SPA Black Nut fixing to be used in conjunction with the standard two-hole base mounting, providing ease of adjustment without needing a completely different mounting system.

Replacing the standard Spa mirror fixing with a Spa Black Nut
As standard a Spa side mirror comes with the fixing plate shown on the mirror in the picture. This plate needs to be replaced by a Spa Black Nut:

1) Undo the cap head bolt holding the fixing plate on to the mirror stem.
2) Unscrew the aluminium fixing/mirror ball end from the bottom of the mirror stem and push the ball end through the supplied Spa fixing plate,
3) Push the ball end through the black conical nut supplied with the DPR mount and screw the ball end on to the mirror stem.
4) The Spa mirror can now be fixed directly to a DPR pillar or cage mount.
5) Take care not to over-tighten the Spa conical nut as the aluminium threads in the pillar mount/Spa nut can be stripped.
Note: All Spa mirrors supplied by DPR will have the Spa black conical nut already fitted in place.
