Dual mount for rear facing camera & rain light
For rear facing cameras there is also the DPR "Dual Function Mount" that provides a secure combined fixing for both the rain light and a rear facing camera.
Heavy Duty Clamp
All DPR camera mounts are supplied with heavy duty aluminium camera clamp designed to be fully tightened without risk of damage to the expensive camera case and also satisfy FIA requirements.
Heavy duty clamps - Our mounts are fitted with heavy duty clamps that cover more of the camera case length, providing better protection to prevent damage to the camera case such as from over-tightening.
- Twin Screw Clamping: Utilises dual screws to firmly secure the camera, providing stability and preventing movement.
- Foam Lining: A soft foam layer inside the clamp protects the camera from scratches and damage.
- Longer Clamp Design: This clamp is longer than standard versions, increasing surface contact and enhancing grip strength.
- Non-Damaging Sizing: Specifically engineered so that the camera cannot be damaged even if the clamp is fully tightened.
FIA Requirements
The FIA maintains strict regulations for camera mounts to ensure that equipment does not become a projectile during a crash; the baseline requirements are found in Appendix J, Article 253 of the FIA International Sporting Code. Any mount used should be fire resistant and able to withstand a minimum deceleration of 25 kg. This rules out the use of suction cups and any plastic components within the mount including securing the mount with cable ties. Bottom line, if the scrutineer is able to move the mount during his inspection this is likely to cause a scrutineering issue.
